My red-margined dracaena is losing leaves but not really getting new ones..?

It's a pretty large plant-stands about 5 feet tall. The leaves are falling off like crazy and it's starting to look bare. There are 3 "branches" and only one is doig really well. It doesn't look like it's dying, just bare. What can I do to help it grow better? What kind of care do these plants usually take? I've had it for about 3 years..

First answer is probably lack of light. However, you didn't tell us where you are and how much light the plant is getting.

Second answer is probably need for new potting soil and/or larger pot. Now ( February ) isn't the time to renew the soil, tho ( at least in the states except for zone Florida) .

Third answer is lack of or too much water. If the leaves on the plant look dry-- limp-- like you feel when you are dehydrated-- that is a good clue. Winter with indoor dryness affects us AND our plants.

Consult with a plant nursery a/o an online source for general care. The plant will be better when the its needs are met.
