which needs re-potting into a larger pot, can anyone tell me whether I need to have holes drainage in the new pot or can I re-pot it with out the drainage.. please answer quickly as I am about to do this within the next day or so...
I have a 3ft dracaena Marginata plant?
Yes on the drainage holes, definatly. Place a saucer under it.
Don't go too much larger on the pot size either. Only 1-2 sizes bigger the it is currently in.
Reply:Thank you everyone for all the information I have now re-potted the dragena and it looks happy.. Report It
Reply:ANY plant needs drainage!
Reply:Greetings Dracaena marginata lover!
*What makes you think that it wants re-potting in the first place?
*I have several dracaenas (marginata and fragrans) and they are nearly 4' tall.
*They seldom need re-potting.
*'In the trade' they are grown in lava rock with a small amount of rich organic matter thrown in the mix.
*(Almost) every plant MUST have drainage. No one likes wet feet (just about no one anyway.)
*Fall is not the best time to transplant house plants as they are preparing for winter (and slowed metabolism.)
Happy houseplants to you!

Reply:Re-pot with drainage holes. They do not enjoy waterlogged roots.
